Light Festival

Gateway Mall was having there annual Illuminate light festival, so I took the boys. I’d never been to one before.

The first thing we came to was a stage where they did shows. We watched a fire dancer show there. We stood on top of this amazing looking bus to watch the show.

Large praying mantis that had operators to make them move.

Inflatable umbrellas that were bicycle powered.

Little stage doing different acts of light show dancers

Ball of lights. The lights moved according to sound, so Locke talked into the microphone to make the lights move around the ball.

Another light exhibit Locke got into. Link wasn’t comfortable trying anything at first. He loosened up later.

Floating Balloon lights. Kids pulled the balloons down and then let the light strand go up.

This looked like twisting string that was lit up.

There were light displays indoors as well. I got a a few pictures of some of the stuff. (below)

This is a tree projected on the wall. The leaves moved like real leaves.

Huge fire pit. To the left was the splash pad now filled with crystals. To the right was a stage and random children were up on it dancing to the music.

Then an acrobat put on a show on the stage. She was really good.

The kids playing on the plastic furniture

Another lit up double decker truck. The kids climbed to the top and then explored inside.

Giant lit up globe. It was rubbery and Locke tried to move it.

Bubble light show. The bubbles were filled with smoke that came out when they popped.

Science displays building. The kids learned about catapults and how they worked, and there were also robots to try out that people made. The little one is a about to knock over the Pepsi bottle. There were also other displays as well.

A gruesome zombie display in front of a bar.

Lighted seesaws. Link claimed this one.
