Canyon Fun

Because everything is closed right now due to Covid 19, I’ve been taking the kids up to the canyons to hike so we could get out but still have social distancing. The first one was a trip to Settlement Canyon where we had a picnic at the reservoir and then hiked the stream leading into the reservoir. Siara came with us on that one and she and Locke climbed really high in a tree.

The next hike was in Middle Canyon. The canyons are all closed for vehicle traffic but we walked in and found some beautiful glades and rock formations. The below rock climb was steep, so I had to help Link a lot. Locke was a mountain goat climbing all over the place.

The next canyon we went to was the Grantsville one. We explored three campgrounds all next to the stream. We had a picnic and the kids had a ball playing in the stream. There was a cord hanging down from a tree and Locke swung on it into the stream. The kids waded, threw rocks, looked for interesting rocks to take home, and piled rocks in the water. Remi loved it too.

Rope Swing, FUN

This a compilation of the videos of the first campground we visited with the rope swing

The second campground we visited was very picturesque. The stream had lots of little waterfalls in it.

Link, trying to do the same thing his big brother is doing, but he doesn’t know what that is. Locke is pointing to the waterfall.

Puddle Jumping

Naturally, the boys found a mud puddle to jump in.

Dirt Eater

While hiking, sometimes I would find Remi laying flat on her belly with her face in the dirt tasting it. In this video, I looked down and found her in a V-shape with her face in the dirt. I didn’t get the video in time, but it was funny. Not sure why she does it. She also likes to play with dirt, sand, and rocks, sifting them with her fingers.
