Veteran’s Day at Aquarium

The aquarium was letting vets and their family members in for free on Veteran’s Day. John wasn’t feeling well, so I took the kids. I even got Locke out of school early. The kids had a great time. I had the double stroller so I could wheel Remi around. We had been lots of times, so I didn’t get many new pictures, except of Remi who had never been. Remi was fascinated by all the fish tanks and exhibits and sat in her stroller without complaint.

We went to the aquarium playground to take a break from running around looking at stuff. Remi is usually a little clingy at play areas but at this playground she wasn’t clingy at all, maybe because there were so many children running around having fun, including babies. She wandered around. Below Link is running around and around.

Remi practiced climbing in the toddler play area, but she would only go up halfway and then go back down.

Finally, I asked Locke to help her up to the top. She looks a little concerned and she kept trying to go back down.

I put her at the top and let her slide down on her belly. I think that was the first slide she liked. She did it several times.

She kept trying to climb back up but her socks made it slippery.

Locke was finally tall enough to grab these and hang like a monkey. The first time we took him to the aquarium, I had to help lift him up so he could do this. This time I had to lift up Link

Here is another video of Remi just wandering around. She is going in the rope tunnel that her brothers are climbing on.

Before leaving, we watched the 4D movie of The Polar Express. Link loved it. He kept laughing loudly and trying to touch stuff wearing his 3D glasses. Remi liked it too, even without the glasses, until the 4D kicked in with air and water blowing in her face. That scared Locke too. Link must have been too short to experience that. We got up to leave because Remi was crying, but Link wouldn’t leave, so Locke and I sat somewhere the 4D features wouldn’t get us. I love the 4D though. I liked the rumbling seats of the train moving, and I liked the air rushing by as the train went fast down a steep hill. The water blowing in the face when the ice cracked was what got Locke and Remi.
