Planetarium

Link in the rocket at the kids play area. The kids climb the rocket and it takes them to a back area. The back area had twirling planets and solar systems on the wall that were lit up by a black light. It also had twinkling stars. It was really cool! They slid down the slide to get out and it made a whooshing noise at the end,
There were lots of interactive activities. This activity shows what things look like in infra-red. There were two pads, one hot and one cold, and after putting your hands on them you could see what they look like in infra-red. They also had hot and cold metal shapes like stars and flowers that showed up on your hands in infra-red.
The kids loved this Cloud Maker.
In this game, kids stretch out their arms and the arms show up as red lines coming from the sun. The lines are where solar flares would come out. You try to hit a planet with your solar flare. There were other similar games to this one such as protecting the earth from asteroids. Locke also liked the lunar landing game where you land one pads on the moon.
Link on Mars.
Locke got to drive a Mars rover.
Locke burning up on Jupiter’s volcanic moon and yelling for help. Lol, got to love his acting!
Locke putting his hands in a tornado. You could adjust things like wind shear and up-draft to make stronger or weaker tornadoes. There was also a giant tornado area in the museum where you could stand inside the tornado.
The kids, of course, loved the plasma ball that shot lightening to where their fingers touched.
Hot plasma tubes
The kids were fascinated by the ball tracks. Link is watching the big balls go through hoops on ceiling. The hoops light up when the balls go through them.
We had frozen raspberry lemonades and popcorn for our snack.
Locke is trying different mixes of fuel and oxygen to see what will make his bottle “rocket” fly the highest.
Locke must have got a good fuel mix on this launch.
Link looking like a bug
There he is! The kids tried the hats and binoculars in the gift shop. They loved the binoculars. I got them a magnifying glass to look at bugs in their yard.
