Mom’s Move to Utah
Mom has had a lot of physical problems this past year and she was finally ready to move to Utah to be closer to family. I told her she could use our basement after Nate & Siara moved out. Nathan flew to Mesa to help her drive the truck back to Utah. He wasn’t too happy though when he found out how much stuff she was bringing with her. When ward members came to load the 20 foot truck, they couldn’t fit everything in it. She had to leave a bunch of stuff like her book shelves, which she actually could have used.
They had a good drive to Utah. They towed her SUV, and the two cats rode in the back of it. Nathan drove straight through for 24 hours with only a two hour nap. I had talked to the elders quorum president about getting some help unloading because Nathan said it was a lot of stuff. I was glad I did because it was a lot. I had to get a storage unit to put some of it in. We had a lot of people show up to help unload, but they were mostly high priests, except for the Neiderhausers, our neighbors, and Brother Brown, our home teacher. One of the gentlemen that showed up was 81 years old. He was trying to take the heaviest loads himself. These older gentlemen were hard workers. I hoped they would be okay and didn’t get hurt. Once we unloaded the stuff at the storage unit, the unloading went fast. It took about two hours all together. Winn, We weren’t able to get some of the bigger pieces out, and had to figure out what to do with them.
