Mayan Exhibit & Tooth Pull
While Siara was getting an infected tooth pulled at the dental school, I took the kids to the Natural History Museum. They had a special Mayan exhibit going on. It was fascinating!
The below display shows how colorful the ancient Mayan structures were. Colored lights added color a little at at time. It was even more colorful than this by the time it was done.
The kids zipped through the displays, but, fortunately, the exhibit had some games for them to do such as putting together pieces of pottery, balancing a load, computer activities (below), etc.
The kids loved this matching activity–mostly because it fell down when they pushed a button. They did it over and over again.
We went through the rest of the museum too. The kids favorite displays were the dinosaurs and animals. They also really liked watching the ants go through their tunnels in the ant farm.

Siara’s tooth had to be surgically removed and stitched up. It was really hard to get out because it had extra roots. Students were working on her, so it took 2 1/2 hours. Remi got hungry and tired at the museum, so we rushed back to the dental school, but the surgery wasn’t done. Eventually she cried herself to sleep. Fortunately, there was a kids room that was private and had cartoons.
