August 15th – 21st

Locke’s 8th Birthday

I took the kids to Kangaroo Zoo for his birthday. He was so excited to finally be old enough to sit in the front seat of the truck.

In the evening Nate got what Locke wanted for dinner, pizza. Afterwards he opened his presents. He is wearing the baby Yoda sweatshirt he got from his Grandma and Grandpa Martin. He loved it and didn’t take it off all day event though it was hot outside. He also got Yoda jammies and undies from his Grandma and Grandpa Martin.

Nate also got Locke an ice cream birthday cake. We all sang him happy birthday. Locke was so happy.

Nate let Locke cut the cake himself with a big knife.

Locke got a smart watch too for his birthday from his mom and dad. He could use it to call only a select few people. He could also text those people. We all got lots of phone calls and messages that week. The phone could take pictures too.

He also got a shiny new red bike from his grandparents Martin. I got him a set of three walkie talkies that he picked out so the three of them could play together with them. Link and Remi had a ball with them while Locke played with his new watch.

Mom’s 80th Birthday

The 19th was my mom’s birthday. John and I took her out to lunch at Hug Hess. The food is really good there and she liked it. Nathan couldn’t come because he was sick from chemo so the following week went over to his house and had another birthday celebration. We went out to eat at Zupas and then had cake and presents. Grandma loved her cake. She thought it was so pretty. I got her a recorder so she could start recording her family history. She’s been remembering stories and I don’t want to lose her history if something happens to her. Nathan gave her 80 dollars because it was her 80th birthday.

West Valley Fitness Center

On Wednesday I took the kids to the fitness center in West Valley. The like it because of the indoor kids play area, the racquetball, the climbing wall, the track they like to run around, and the foosball and air hockey games that are free. They even lend you the equipment to play with all those items.
