Hiking Painted Rock

We went for a bike ride on Tanner Trail in Salt Lake City. There were lots of hills on the Tanner Trail so we took the small E-bike for Locke and the scooter for Link.

We stopped and hiked the giant painted rock that can be seen down below the freeway. The giant red rock was significant to early saints when they entered the valley. Later, a reservoir was added around the rock to catch the river flow, but later it was removed. You can still see the concrete structures around the area that were part of the reservoir. Teens now use the rock as their own personal billboard, even though vandalism is prohibited.

After riding our bikes, we went to Tanner Park. It had lots of great climbing trees, one with a fort already in it. It also had a large rock garden with a pond. We played hide and seek there.
