Utah State Fair

We have never been to the Utah State Fair, so I took the kids to check it out. We rented a stroller for 5 dollars because I had forgotten Remi’s stroller. It was a little wonky though, but I was grateful for it.

Military ATV’s

Art Displays

There were several buildings for art displays where people won ribbons. We started at the arts and crafts building. The kids liked the haunted houses and halloween stuff. They also got to see the butter sculpture.

Commercial Booths

One large building had booths for advertising or selling stuff. The kids got free suckers and got to play with toys at booths selling those items.

I got them a splat ball at one booth. It was so funny watching the balls splat flat like something had spilled on the floor in a puddle. It would then regain it’s shape. They were sticky balls filled with water. The guy also gave us one of his extra lemons.

Kids Wild West Play Area

Next we found a free Wild West play area for kids. The state sponsors it so there is something for the kids to do.

Sound board. Each picture made a different sound. The boys especially thought the gassy eater was funny.

Making Butter

Utah Dairy Association had a booth and the kids got to shake cream to make butter. Then they gave them crackers to eat the butter with.

Cabela’s Display

Next we found an indoor Cabela’s display with fish tanks, turtle tanks, taxidermy animals, etc. It was very professionally set up.

Kids Farm Animals

This chick must have been stuck because Remi was able to pet it and poke it for a long time. She didn’t want to leave.

Piglets

Kid Grown Produce

State Champion Sheep

There were several buildings full of animals that were competing for ribbons. This is the sheep building. We also saw cows and goats.

Lastly, we went into a kids farm where they went from one farm building to another and pretended to do farm chores. They filled their baskets with milk from the cow, apples from the tree, produce from the garden, and eggs from the chicken. Then they took them to the store and put them in the baskets and got a dollar for doing their chores. They got to spend it in a store with all kinds of goodies, including chocolate milk, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc. Remi picked out fruit snacks, Locke got cereal, and Link got sweet popcorn chips.

The little kids carnival rides looked fun too, but they were a little expensive. I was surprised we were able to find so many free things for the kids to do. They had lots of fun!
