Big Cottonwood Canyon

On Sundays I’ve been taking the kids up to Big Cottonwood Canyon to go on walks and escape the heat. The first time we found a trail that took us to a heavy flowing stream going down the mountain. We waded a little bit but it was freezing. It was beautiful though. Remi was excellent at hiking up hill.

After that we went across the street to a day camp site. People could rent spots for the day. We ate our picnic at one of the spots that was reserved but the people hadn’t shown up yet. It was right next to an amazing waterfall overflow (Link called it a waterslide). After our picnic we walked around. We went over the bridge and walked by the river. The kids played hide and seek in the trees and rocks. We found a glamping site that rented for over 200 a day. The kids wanted to hang out at it. It was very nice and comfortable but not something you want to mess with for that price.

I had ripped my pants when trying to sit on a log that had poky branches on it. I didn’t know I had ripped my pants because I had garments on and didn’t feel a draft. I walked around the day camp with ripped pants the whole time. The last picture in the gallery shows the rip and the one below shows how bad it was.
