Fourth of July

Siara and Nate hosted a Fourth of July barbecue dinner party at their house. In their backyard they had volley ball, badminton, and some water games. They had also bought lots of fireworks to set off. They invited a lot of people, friends and family. There were over thirty people there, several families with little children.

The only problem we had at the party was that it was rainy, windy, and cold for the first hour. Their yard was so beautiful and set up to entertain, but no one wanted to go out. Then it cleared up and was perfect weather. The rain was a blessing so that the dry weeds wouldn’t catch on fire during the fireworks.

Nate made wood benches seating out of the leftover telephone poles that were used for the barn poles. They looked awesome.

After the weather cleared up everyone got a tour of the farm and met the animals. Siara gave away produce from their garden. The teens and kids played the yard games. There was great food. It was a fun party!

At dusk they started the fireworks. Nate had bought a bunch of them. It was a great show! We sat on chairs in the front lawn and watched the men light them up in the street. Neighbors from across the street watched too, and they also lit their own up. Both houses (theirs and ours) had their driveways filled with cars. We also had a great view of all the fireworks going off in Tooele.

Remi would jump at the noise, but she loved watching the fireworks sitting in her mama’s lap wrapped in a blanket
Link, were afraid of the fireworks. I sat way back on the porch with him, covering up his ears. Nathan and Josie sat with me.
Locke and his two friends got as close as they could to the fireworks, and when it was time for sparklers they went under the fence and lit them with their dads. .
