The Martin Homestead

When Siara and Nate first bought the house it was winter, so the Coulter’s, the previous owners, couldn’t get some of their things out like this old truck. There were several other pieces of ancient farm equipment too that they were going to come back for. Brother Coulter is a general manager at IFA (Intermountain Farmers Association). He also owns the Coulter House which is an historical farm and house from 1949. He turned it into an event center. We went to a Halloween event there and he gave us a hayride tour of the property.

Siara and Nate’s property includes a fishery. (below) The inside of the fishery is filled with tanks full of different size fish. Brother Coulter would sell the fish to the state Fish and Game to restock lakes. There are also a couple of fish runs outside for summer spawning. One is for wide mouth bass and the other is for . The bass will eat the baby if they aren’t separated. The runs are lined with plastic and are filled with water. They can be up to five feet deep.
